The excitement at concerts stemmed from seeing the creators of the music we loved in my opinion.. However, Epstein and they wanted the big arenas and the big money. I saw them 4 times in concert and it was painful to see them so far away like little Christmas tree ornaments.. I get what you mean. Once that impression was made, the ‘Beatles’ could be croaking, screaming, shouting and doing everything BUT SINGING, still people would swoon, so to state….I ‘swoon’ listening to Abbey Road till date…… That’s why we bought their records.You could listen to perfection John and Paul were special and George and Ringo in their own way.

Here is the reason why I wanted to learn English. No single artist or band will ever be as great, as influential and as talented as The Beatles were.. But the music lasted longer than the band and it’s the most fantastic music ever. Except for the one American show it Atlanta 18-08-65! Europe and elsewhere seemed to listen more judging from the films and live recordings available.. and they were awesome live, without hearing themselves and playing faster so they could finish in 20 minutes and run away, they managed to play perfectly and sing in tune. lots of the live versions are better than the studio ones.. I was THERE at Shea in 1966. We didn’t come to hear the music; we came to see History on stage. I saw girls passing out and getting oxygen. My dad tried to assure me: “You can be so happy that you can cry.” The old man was right.. Kinda weird when you think about it. People went to see them on stage moving around. Music didn’t matter really…strange. Must have been a lot of people disappointed not to hear them live on stage playing music. . A Beatles concert was a communal experience. The fans already knew the music and loved it.
