Reinvention. He could have invented the word. He was constantly reinventing or evolving, at times too fast for even his most hardened fans. Much, much missed. A true genius and soundtrack to my life. It is a little sadder and emptier now he’s not here.

  • Although, it may had looked naked. Which would not fly too well. What we thought was his naked bottom was a piece of pantyhose material stitched too the inside butt cheeks.
  • Just about wore out my VHS tape of this performance, rewinding and re-watching — Arsenio summed it up nicely afterward, “I told you it’s funky like doo-doo!”
  • I think he is more sexy than every other manly man out there. That’s true sexiness when you can be 5ft2, where stilettos, and assless jumpsuits and still pull every girl. Powerful
  • And a RUSAN guitar ! As a life long Prince fan I’m truly discussed the way the Prince estate is being handled after his untimely death LEAVE DAVE RUSAN ALONE !!!!! I remember being young, and everyone saying that set was weird. I’m over there thinking, that’s Prince being Prince.

I remember being glued to the television, watching his every move! This was live! Notice the minor mishap with the microphone! Prince never misses a beat! That’s a true professional! So Masterful!

I remember when it was released and the movie, it was captivating, the music grabbed you by the heartstrings. That guitar beginning just snagged and scooped you in, the whole melody. The song and his music will transcend time. What his heart shared with the world will live on.

Agree with Al Server I would love to see a DVD & CD release of the benefit show at the 1st Avenue unedited version. There is a boot floating around, but would to have an unedited version of this important performance which set the stage for Prince & The Revolution!

I love Purple Rain. The song was and will be the one that people will always remember. It touched my inner body and soul. For me Why you wanna treat me so bad? and Do me baby will always be there for me. Praise the genius that was Prince and his music will never die
