In the late 1960s, the hippie trend developed so strongly that teenagers were found where they had long hair, smoking, drinking alcohol, being naked, and so on. The erudite idols such as Thomas Edison, Jefferson, Mark Twain … gradually replaced by rock stars, by Elvis Presley, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan … San Francisco became Hippie capital. The monumental music festivals held in Monterey 1967 (California), Woodstock 1969 (New York) attracted the participation of nearly half a million Hippie people from all states pouring in.
There, people held free music shows, distributed drugs and alcohol. If you are a fan of Rock music, you will probably know club 27, to refer to the legendary music stars dying at the age of 27. Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse are just the next generation, but before that young legends like: Jimmy Hendrix (1942-1970), Janis Joplin (1943 – 1970), Jimmy Morrison (1943 – 1971), all died from drug overdose.
