Alford was born into a family owned travel agency, so he has had many opportunities to visit attractions such as California, Dubai and Egypt since childhood, according to Forbes magazine.
The girl started saving at the age of 12 to prepare for the costs of conquering 196 countries around the world. By his 18th birthday, Alford traveled 72 countries.
In October 2016, the American girl found that she had 124 countries in the world that had not set foot before setting an official record.
Many people followed Alford’s travels through Instagram and the girl decided to pursue a world record enrollment to inspire others.
