In 1783, Langdon was elected to the National Assembly; a year later, entering the state Senate; and the following year, the Governor of New Hampshire. In 1784, he built a house in Portsmouth. In 1786-1787, he again became President of Parliament and during this time, for the third time, he attended the Union Parliament.
