The Greek language is rich to describe the nuances of love: eros, agape, philia. Love is a complex human state in which different nuances of love can be combined love-oriented, love-admiration can be combined with condescending love, with merciful love. Yet completely separating Christian love from the elements of mercy, empathy, compassion and recognizing it as wholly eros, as it was preferred to do so in the early twentieth century, is through purely Christian sculptures and temptations. Pure mercy and empathy cannot be attributed to Buddhism, they are also deeply inherent in Christianity.
