The quarantine has not been easy on my children. They each have powerful personalities and different issues and contentions between them have been at an all time high. It’s been difficult for me to hear that some families have benefited and grown closer together The last few months when my children seem to be tearing each other apart. It’s been difficult on my mental and spiritual health to constantly be breaking up fights and knowing how to approach each situation. My husband and I have been a united front. We both desire peace In our home. It’s been difficult to feel alone in all this and not have support from a ward like we usually do. We have really relied on the spirit to guide us to problem solve and to find programs that will help us. It’s difficult to feel the spirit in a contentious environment as well. I especially felt the Holy Ghost guide me during a conversation with my daughter yesterday after a contentious blow up she had with her brother’s. For the first time she was able to put into words what she was feeling instead of saying her over used comment of, “I don’t know why!” Afterwards she seemed so much lighter and happier. My children were even laughing and playing well together last night. I hope that continues. I really would not be able to maneuver this time without the constant guidance of the Holy Ghost. What’s funny is I never comment on these public platforms but I have felt compelled to comment for some reason today. I was working on a post for my job about marketing. As I created this post, the spirit taught me eternal principles with such clarity within this principle of marketing.
Basically, in branding your promise and personality are more important to your brand than the signs and symbols of your brand, like a logo, colors, fonts, etc. The spirit instructed me that this is true for satans “brand” and Heavenly Father’s “brand.” Satan focuses on the signs and symbols of his brand; money, power, armies, outward, pleasure, etc. Satan does not provide a promise and his personality will ultimately deceive you.
Heavenly Father and the Savior however, use signs and symbols to support and reinforce Their promises and personalities. Their promises are sure and their personalities, or character, are unchanging and constant.
What a blessing to learn this just sitting at my desk and working!
