Cornwall is not rich and prosperous at all. It has some of the lowest wages in the country. Plus it relies on many grants. It needs the councils to actually invest in industries and jobs apart from just tourism.

• Councils have blocked ideas for advancement for years until it suits them financially. Houses are crammed in now without the infrastructure needed, not enough roads, hospitals or schools or GP practices. The pandemic highlighted this with Cornish people demanding that no one should come down but really they should be campaigning for better resources.
• It might kook wealthy but there are some extremely poor areas too. It is always really badly hit in recessions and town centres look like ghost towns with empty closed shops.
• I’ve lost well over £12,000. Moved to a small holding to expand my business. May now have to sell my very hard earned dream. So people can sit at home, getting paid whilst the small businesses run around, trying to get money together. Paying staff they can ill afford. Running exposure to a disease with a 90% recovery rate. Far higher than cancer.

With an average death age of 82. What the difference is between an open air market and Sainsburys is I’ve no idea!! Except far better ventilation!! I’m far happier at markets.

So they should! If the shops can open then why not these.. sick of hearing about covid covid covid we need a bit of cheer to the end of the year! Good on you council.. Good! Some common sense at last! I bet they looked at their R rate, realised it was ridiculously lower than London’s and decided to go ahead! I applaud them! will you also applaud the nurses in icu which will have to care for those who got sick from visiting this event… or maybe they just wanted to give london some competition.

I feel bad for the doctors and nurses having to put up with this, leaving their families and homes behind, working for hours everyday and risking their lives while many people obviously don’t give a flying. I hope the police make a point of arresting the city councillors and serving them with a heavy fine,,
