Take her for short rides 2 or 3 times a day. She’s just nervous and all the drugs in the world will not cure that. Stop the drugs and just take her out everyday a couple times. She will get use to the idea. Hold her with a blanket around her close to your body. Bring wipes and paper towels. Most grow out of It….please stop all the over the counter stuff she’s just a baby
- Here is another if you take her with you start taking more breaks so she can get out for some fresh air—I had a dachshund that did that in the past—Just take more breaks and let her out to get air a little food and water and bathroom uses
- We have had several over the years, and some friend’s dogs also that get car sick. The thing we found that worked the best was to just keep taking them. Make the rides short, and increase time. Do not stress, as they feel your anxiety.
- Just be prepared for the salivating etc. If you prefer to crate as you travel then just do so. Maybe use newspapers that can be removed and thrown out easily. Try to take short rides daily. Give a treat when you come back. This is what has worked best for us over the years. Patience and persistence
You need to gradually introduce her to it. First just get her into it. Give her treats and praise. Take her out. And do it again. Gradually moving to the next step. A foster I had swas so terrified she in the back seat. She now travels in one of those ginormous mobile homes all over the country! Lol make each step of the way a positive experience.
There has to be people you can trust to leave her with them from time to time. Anxiety separation is a horrible thing. If she ever has to spend the night at the vets, she will suffer greatly because of anxiety separation. I know you wanted to take her with you but you have to introduce dogs slowly to the car
