I know how this will end. It will not be good for someone, maybe neither of these two, but it will not end well. The Shark is not a dog, should not be considered to be a dog. Should not be treated like anything other than what she is. Mixed messages to give Human type creatures “The feels”, is not the kind of support Wildlife needs, IMHO of course.
- I was scuba diving in the Los Roques Islands of Venezuela, and I too have petted the length of a Tiger Shark. I realized it was behind me and I had a rock and Coral precipice in front of me. I thought if I showed no fear the shark would not attack me. But it seemed to be inspecting me, so I decided to pet it. That happened in 1975 and I was not aware if it was a male or female. All I can remember was the thrill of petting the shark.
- I just wonder why men think that they can kill sharks as some kind of triumph and don’t give a stuff even if the ocean is a sharks territory. To these so called divers what gives them the right to kill them in their territory. Shame on you.
- It’s hard for me to believe sharks like affection from humans but the way she closes that eyelid when he pats her does make it seem like she enjoys it, quite an amazing story…but a very good beginning to really understanding that sharks can show tolerance/affection for other species in their domain

This is amazing, watching someone who certainly understands sharks, interacting with them, especially when you consider how ferocious a predator they are, I do believe most shark attacks are accidental, a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, after all, we’re not their normal prey. It also shows that they have a higher intelligence, than we first thought, in order to seek out affection from another species.
