I do appreciate them ,I don’t appreciate your tunnel vision and trying to ruin someone else’s Day for your own glorification. I’d like to see you risk your life daily working with live power lines so people can have electricity.
Why don’t you look up, “arc flashes” and see what they risk everyday before you make that woman feel badly about wanting to appreciate them. Don’t be a jerk, it’s not an attractive quality. im Garrett congratulations on your achievement. I do not intend to diminish what the nurses do. However, I felt badly for her. Maybe today wasn’t the day to say something, but I can imagine constantly hearing all the praise for the, “essential workers”, and not one mention of the men who are at risk everyday.
Since you have a relative in the power line industry, I’m sure you’ve heard of, “man camps”. When there’s a storm that knocks out a large area and is going to take some time to repair, they set up tents for the linemen. Large groups of men share a tent full of cots to sleep, a tent for showers, and a food service tent. With all the storms in the south lately, and this virus, can you imagine a woman kissing her husband goodbye and sending him off to one of these for weeks? I don’t feel a nurse is any better than a lineman, nor is a lineman any better than a nurse. However, I can see how Ms. Brandi could have hit her breaking point and felt the need to vent. Since this started, We’ve heard all about the healthcare workers. They’ve been praised and shown appreciation daily from parades to ovations each evening. Not one mention of the linemen, who I suspect are close to her heart, and now a day for a group of people she hears of everyday. I don’t believe she’s jealous, nor is she trying to steal the thunder. I thinks she’s hurting and feels insignificant because her loved one is overlooked and so is he.
