I’ve filed but been refused. I’m still waiting to see about federal help. The unemployment website is very slow. I’ve tried calling multiple times and will try again today but they won’t even take my call. I’ve heard other people have waited hours for someone to answer and then been cut off. people in Missouri have been getting their federal for weeks now. I live in Illinois but worked in Tennessee last year. I was working in Ohio this year for 7 weeks but that wasn’t long enough to draw unemployment there so I filed in Tennessee. I can’t get through to ask if I filed correctly or if I need to file in Ohio. Illinois website refuses to let me file and they aren’t taking calls at all just like Tennessee. I live in Oklahoma. It took almost several weeks before we could even file as 1099 independent contractors only to be told we were still going to have to wait for word to come from the department of labor. It’s all been one big cluster. Pretty poor strategy in the long run. In the short term you may see a bump in pay but on a loner term they will lose out significantly from being unemployed for the long term. I assume this is only happening at places that offer shit pay and no benefits. Perhaps these businesses should use their subsidized loans for payroll to make up the difference to the people still working? These loans can be completely forgiven if the money is used for payroll. very few small businesses have actually received any loans. Mostly larger small businesses (400 to 500 employees) have received loans. many jobs pay $15 per hour, a lot of the country $15 per hour is pretty good. A $15 per hour worker gets $600 with 40 hours but get close to $1000 with unemployment.
