We here in the US have kept our European brothers and sisters in our prayers as well. We look forward to the day when we will again be able to visit. Florence is one of our special memories. The architecture is awe inspiring and the people so warm. We always talk of a lunch that we had there in a small second story buffet that was recommended in our RS guidebook. It was frequented almost entirely by young locals who we really enjoyed. The food was great, and we were able to people watch those passing below. We love those times that we can connect in an everyday way. I just read your post about how things have turned around in Italy that was hit so hard. I was reading Italian newspaper stories on line back in March as I lived in Italy fot 4 years and was hearbroken to see how badly effected the country. One thing that made me laugh about your pointing out the difference in the way the Italian public reacted vs Americans going nuts about their freedoms. Italians are very emotional, independent and free spirited but also extremely PRAGMATIC…thats what we lack here in the USA! And here I was planning to visit Europe next spring…I’ll probably still be banned. How do you feel about adoption? I’m a non-smoking retired nurse who is in reasonably good health. My talents are cooking, basic knitting, and a love of trivia.
