We are meant to feel incredibly guilty for being English in England…well I’m not and refuse to be. as a person who thinks whoever flew this banner did not a thing wrong and is in fact a legend, I agree. The education system is pure rot. this is what is amazing in all this- police brutality is one thing but george floyd was no martin luther king for sure. we enjoy a decent level of freedom of speech here and the message should have been all lives matter from the start. Nobody is saying for you to feel guilty about being English. It’s about understanding that black people have been disadvantaged for a long time due to racism, and coming together to try and solve that problem. Supporting BLM doesn’t mean we think that other people don’t face adversary and struggle, but by supporting it you are helping eliminate the thought that other ethnicities (specifically black people in this instance) aren’t equal to their white counterpart. I feel like flying that banner across the pitch totally undermines that point, but that’s just my humble opinion.
Uproar over a banner saying ‘white lives matter’ i don’t agree with it as it singles out one race/colour and not including all, this is how some feel seeing ‘black lives matter’ pushes people apart not together. But many hear we have to embrace it as ‘black lives matter’. Also white lives matter is not a movement collecting money to abolish the police plus other extreme views see there donate page for details. BLM Uk seems a racist group and not a group to bring equality it only divides.
Many agree to bring equality to all but using BLMUK is not the way. I know exactly what the focus is and I also know that no matter how many slogans there are, no matter how many marches, riots or statues being removed, not ONE racist will change their point of view, NOT ONE I’m afraid. This BLM just fuels their fire. ll people regardless of race can make what they want of their lives if they workdambed hard enough. I for one am not responsible for the past and am not going to be made guilty because I’m white…… work hard and get that great big chip off your shoulder…
