then slightly afraid. I don’t have prolonged family to assist me with baby care. I’m on the lookout for a direction, a starting point, as I’m really at a lack of the way to proceed. Hi. I stay in Colorado which is a marital property state. I’ve been married for 14 yrs. I haven’t worked for 10 of these yrs. . I deal with our household as I’m able to do so. My husband works. Our first home was bought with cash, given to my husband . He put his name on the title solely. Intentionally keeping my name off. That residence has since been bought. Our present house was purchased , from the sale of the earlier residence. Again, my husband intentionally put solely his name on the title. He did it so he might stake declare to it, and throw it back up in my face, that his name is the only one on the title. That’s his words completely. He stated them to me yesterday, during an argument. He is threatening divorce and says that our current home was purchased by him . He’s saying because of the monetary “reward” he got to purchase the first residence, our present house is a “reward” as nicely . He’s been saying that if the house is sold, he will get all the money. If the house isn’t sold he has the legal right to give it to whom ever he needs , and I can’t do anything about it. I’ve been studying in regards to the marital property law right here in Colo. But I’m still confused as to how a home would be handled durning a divorce. We have no children collectively. My children are grown and don’t live at home. His son is 15 and doesn’t live in the home either. The mom of his son (which he didn’t know he had, till the boy was 7) keeps him away from my husband, due to my husband’s excessive mood and abuse , she handled throughout their relationship . He hasn’t seen his son since he was eight. He barely even had/has a relationship with his son, since he solely got to visit with him for 3 half of months. One and a half of these months, he needed to do supervised visits. Anyway, we now have no kids dwelling in our home. So what occurs with the present home, in a divorce? Even though he has his name on the title only. Is it still thought-about a “present” given to him, due to the financial “gift” he received to purchase the first house? As I stated, it was bought throughout our marriage. Thanks a lot in your help. I don’t even know where to start. So quick recap, I moved to my dad and mom property due to my divorce and my mums well being issues at the time.
