At first, many people were afraid of exposing their children to a new and a bit dangerous sport. However, after many campaigning efforts, some parents also agreed to let their children follow Malaviya to learn swimming and surfing.
Although the language difference is due to the Kannada speaking line, Malaviya and the children are trying to understand each other in English with body language.
Besides the difficulty in conveying surfing to the people, Malaviya also faced many limitations such as meager economic resources, objections from family and relatives.
