Participating in F1 racing is always associated with danger. Early racing car design had very few means of protection. British driver Jim Clark, considered one of the genius racers, died after crashing into a tree line in Hockenheim, Germany, in 1968. The cause of the accident never clearly identified. but investigators concluded that the greatest possibility was due to a collapsed rear tire.
