My labrador retriever(who sheds year round)has 2 hoodies(1 so he can wear the other while I’m cleaning it)would be too cold without clothes/a hoody in the winter due to his short fur. Otherwise I wouldn’t have him wear them.
- Not very kind at all. Humans might think is cute and cuddly and kind, but honestly it is taking the animal’s senses away from them. I’m not sure how. Are your senses taken away when wearing ear muffs or a hat? Dogs have better senses than humans by far. And if we can hear with a hat on I’m sure they can too!!
- Actually, these are recommended for dogs with short coats to keep them warm. Like humans, a lot of heat is lost through a dog’s ears. These keep dogs warm in the winter. I’m actually curious here. What senses would keeping a dog warm, remove? They can still hear, see, and smell. Their ears are covered, not plugged with cotton.
- I’m also curious as to anyone liking or agreeing with the comment and their places of residence. I know I can’t walk around my corner of the world, in winter, without a hat on.
I live in the Mojave desert and while most of the year we are HOT!!!!! to mild we do get snow in the winter. And even without snow we get frigid winds. My dogs love being bundled up. They don’t like to go out without their winter gear. And yes, I can hear with a hat over my ears.
Well actually show digs gave worn them for years. Our Springer spaniel had to wear one when she was out in the sun so her ears would sunburn and change their color. She rather liked it. She loved to be noticed and photographed and would pose …even in her snood. These can be helpful for reactive dogs. I used to own a dog wash and we would place wraps like this on dogs who reacted to noise from the dryers. Worked wonders.
