Three teachers in Az team teaching virtually in the same room, all three contracted Covid 19, one died. She taught 38 years. All three followed CDC guidelines No matter what political side you are on our children deserve better – stop the politics and let’s do better for them. We are the adults after all. And, should the politicians be the only ones who benefit? I think theyre all dumb as rocks. No matter what party they are. Let them all send their children to a public school. If its safe and all. We’ve got one child here. Not willing to play russian roulette with her life. I was ocd about keeping her safe from the flu all year. Feeding her vitamins and elderberry daily. The Corona virus–no way!! Had a conversation yesterday about this. I’m a stat person. If your area hasn’t already become a hotspot…when school starts you will become one…then what? They will shut it down. Schools make money based on attendance. If a certain amount of kids are sick they shut it down temp. (Even for flu) with covid I’m guessing that 2 weeks at a time for quarantine or maybe to disinfect. We are in a lose lose situation this school year. I hope elearning gets perfected. I truly feel for everyone. It cant be a all or nothing benefit across the board for everyone not matter which side of the fence…we are in for another rocky semester. It seems inflammatory to me. IMO, yes, just my opinion….Schools have to open for those who have NO choice. If you have a choice, you should keep your children at home. The system can’t make that decision for you. The system does have to provide education. And the teachers? Yes they will be considered “essential”. I’ve been “essential” through it all and worked every day. And yes, I’ve been fortunate. I have not had Covid. I wear a mask. One more thought, if the government can shell out billions for SBA and PPP loans (many to businesses that didn’t need it), they can shell out cash to school systems.
