Hi Rick, my one and only experience tasting escargot was with Dave H., Mike (and likely you too) in 1985 in a small cafe on Montmartre. Someone at the the table ordered escargot drenched in butter & garlic and I tried it just to say that I did. I nearly gagged and definitely didn’t chew, ever grateful for the butter & garlic. My first escargot was at Le Versailles in Omaha in 1973 when our French club from school traveled hours for a true French meal. I kept the menu and even one of the shells. I just refound them in my attic while packing to move for the first time in nearly 40 years. Wish I could still have a plate of escargot for $2.50

OMG, we had the BEST escargot at Frenchy’s. They were fabulous. The duck and scallops were pretty fantastic too. And remember, Petite Louis has carry out  We have snails growing on our sea wall in Florida. The Limpkin bird eats the snails before we can. I clean and polish the shells so it’s a win win.
