I didn’t realize it was it’s 50th yr anniversary and just ordered and received my copy of the book the cross and the switchblade that I have yet to read. I was given a copy of Run Baby Run by Nicky cruise by a jr high councilor in 7th grade and Jesus has used that book since then to improve my life. I got saved in my 20 as a result from reading that book. I just watched the movie the cross and the switch blade am am truley blessed. Thank you and God bless you. Read the book in the 70’s. My older brother went with our pastor and youth group, maybe 1969-1970 to Harlem and met David Wilkerson. The Cross and the Swtchpage was a page turner for me… Jesus continued to call me… I was hard to reel in! I am so grateful He never gave up on me. Best free book I ever picked up. I was a young girl when I first heard of Rev. David Wilkerson,….I read and reread the Cross And THE Switchblade………..It made a lasting impression on me..This minister spoke at the high school in Orrville , OH…….when I was 16 years old……1963…
I’m from Smithville! I was introduced to his books and heard him speak in the 70’s and was drawn to Christ in my teens. Small world! WOnderful book, look forward to the movie. This book and Run Baby Run both had a high impact on my life when I was 16. I recently rebought both books for my nephew. Loved this movie very dated ( however bang up to date with what’s going on in the world and the message is still the same!) David Wilkerson GBNF a true man of God and what a transformation in Nicky Cruz’s life! God is good! Watched this movie when I was in my teens, and then read the book as well. Think I need to check local bookstores, I need to read the book again. I remember seeing this at Bethal Assembly of God when I was in 7th grade. Powerful. I own a copy of the book, the movie and the comic book!! Favorite since I grew up in the 70s.
