That is an epic trip. We spent a few days in Rome .Took high speed rail to Naples. Transfered to a clicketty clackatity train to Sorrento. Spent 10 days there.Great jumping off point. Hit up Mt.Vesuvius. Herculaneum, Pompeii, Naples… and all of what Rick mentioned. Then back to Rome for a few more days. Thanks for the memories… As suggested on your Italy guidebook, I booked with Mondo Guide for Full Day Excursions to the Amalfi Coast and Capri from Sorrento. Those were two of the most fun activities we did on our trip to the Campania region of Italy. Thank you! Your memories of the Amalfi Coast brought back great memories of traveling and staying there through your Bed, Breakfast and Bath tours. It was a 21 day tour that started in Varenna and ended in Rome. The Amalfi Coast and Naples was part of the tour. the bus ride on the Amalfi coast stopping by Sorrento, Positano. Went to Capri but the tide was high so I was unable to see the blue grotto. Maybe next time. Have been to Italy, Venice Florence areas, then down to Rome. Next trip I would like to Start in Rome cuz I like it a lot, but then go south and see those places. Love love Italy, God’s gift to humankind Your description of the bus ride brings back memories of a trip to Positano with some college friends back in the spring of 2008 when we were on spring break while studying abroad. That bus ride had me gripping the seat, clinging on for dear life as we made our way down the winding mountain. We walked to a pebble beach, swam, drank wine, and relaxed. I’ll never forget the stunning vistas with lemon trees and pastel colored buildings dotting the cliffs. What a beautiful, beautiful place. I wish I had made it to Capri while we were there — maybe someday.
