Beautiful Rescue thank you for going back for him! I would have done the same, love all animals and Wildlife! Respect. yeah because that makes total sense… if you love an animal and come across one in need of help, turn the other way so that it starves to death or gets killed by a predator… how about staying off this page if you don’t have compassion.
- The fact that the fawn was left alone for that long, without feeding, means the mother was likely never returning. Best bet is killed by a car or a hunter…far from a natural situation. No reason to allow the fawn to starve to death when it can be rehabbed and then released into the wild.
- Doe’s or mother deer, often leave their young while they’re out gathering food or scouting. maybe learn something about conservation and keep your emotions and “compassion” out of your decision making. you’re encouraging stupid people to steal other animals babies.
- I think the poor thing was abandoned or mom was killed. If you look closely at the fawn’s ears when she finds him, they are starting to curl. That means baby has not nursed in a very long time and is starting to dehydrate. Plus a fawn’s instinct is the lay low and not move until mom comes back (to avoid predators) so it running up to the lady was its way of saying it needed help.

That wasn’t because mom left it a few hours, it was because something happened to its mother. it doesn’t matter, you don’t know anything other than what the AR rescue is feeding you. You do realize majority of the time, the “helpless baby animal” is fine and just waiting for mom to come back.
Sometimes it takes a day or so, a deer can traverse on average 5-10km in a day (approximately 12 acres for Does and 60 acres for Bucks). Too many people go taking wild baby animals thinking they in danger when really their mom is out gathering food or finding a place to sleep for the night and is coming back at dusk.
Majority of these videos are posted for a cuteness factor and then city people see it and think it’s okay to do in any seemingly abandoned baby animals situation when they’re literally messing with the population of a species in that area and stealing a baby from a mother.
