Disney also omitted the details of the story that after having legs, Ariel still faces many difficulties because every step will bring painful feeling like walking on glass fragments. However, Ariel still finds the prince but cannot say who he is. After returning alive, the prince wanted to see the benefactor again but ended up marrying the woman he supposed saved his life.
Ariel then received another contract to kill the prince if he wanted to return as a mermaid and return to the sea. Of course, she could not kill the one she loved, so she chose to throw herself into the ocean, her body turned into a sponge. The story also mentioned that Ariel would later become the daughter of the spirit, step into hell and work hard for 300 years before having the soul like the human she had dreamed of.
