Gaur (scientific name: Bos gaurus) is an animal of the even-colored, large-sized Clogs, which lives mainly in the hills of India and Southeast Asia. They can either live in the wild or have been domesticated. It is also known as the Malay bison or Indian bison.
In Vietnam, gaurs are called minor children by the ethnic minorities, meaning buffalo, because they have the same shape as the buffalo. Gaur has been recognized by zoological experts in the world as the largest wild bison in nature, bigger than Asian buffalo and North American bison. An adult bull usually weighs tons.
Gaur looks like a buffalo in the front and looks like a cow in the back. Gaur is a species of giant stature. In India and Malaysia, gaur is considered a symbol of strength and vigor. An adult bull averages 1.8-1.9m tall, average about 3 m long.
