At the time of the 46th invention, Thomas Edison was told that Christopher Sholes at Milwakee was experimenting with a machine called a “typewriter.” Cigar knowledge Poster. Knowing that the new device would greatly contribute to the manufacture of automated telegraphs, Edison invited Sholes to bring the model to Newark and he proposed many reasonable modifications. The Automatic Telegraph Company was the first to build a typewriter and then use it in the office and the typewriter paved the way for Remington machines that would later be used around the world. If Morse invented the telegraph, then Edison would have contributed many important improvements that made it difficult for Morse to realize his own invention.
