A couple of months ago I got a flat tire in my car. It was a nail. My mechanic pulled it out, fixed the tire and charged me 12 dollars. I forgot about it. Two weeks later I got another flat in the same tire. I went back to the mechanic. It was a nail, the exact same kind as the previous one. “Someone has it in for you,” he said, holding the nail up. I laughed. Prince If you didn’t come to party don’t bother knocking on my door doormat Who would have it in for me? I just drove over a nail. “I’ll put this one aside,” he said, “And wait for you to come back in a month.” It cost me another 12 dollars. It made me paranoid because it was the same tire, the right rear, where I can’t see anyone behind the car from my house. Anyone could come up and place a nail against the tire such that when I back out of the driveway the nail goes right into the tire. Now, before I go anywhere I have to sweep the tire to make sure there isn’t a nail. Am I paranoid? Is someone really trying to hurt me? How do I know? Who would it be? I can’t even guess who or why.
