Sailors in Japanese waters have long handed down the story of a terrifying sea monster called Umibozu. This creature usually emerges suddenly from an earlier water that was very peaceful and shows no sign of danger. If the sailors accidentally sailed into the area where Umibozu lived and disturbed them, from under the water – huge black heads would appear, shaking the boat violently. With its enormous size and height when floating tens of meters – Umibozu’s incredible power is enough to split a ship in half, drag all the crew into the deep ocean. This name comes from the shape of the giant round, smooth head of the sea monster. Many sources say that Umibozu is the embodiment of the spirit of drowned dentists. This is also consistent with their appearance when they appear: a bald head and prayer posture. Umibozu is often depicted with a gray body, round head with large eyes. The lower body was like a cloud, and the limbs were twisted like giant snakes. Not only that, they are described as having a very peculiar personality.
