He’s good at what he does. Only problem is unfortunately he’s going to get slower season after season. Definitely need to start looking for a replacement for the long run. Maybe not yet though. Apart from Leeds other 2 wins were against bottom teams, two decent ones we go hammered ‘no pun intended’ oh and Stoke failed to score against. Nice start I agree but not convinced yet tbh.

• Softest of soft free-kicks and Rui needs to do better… but more frustrating than that is we would never have been in that position if we’d just kept on playing after we scored. But we stopped. Instantly. We’d outplayed them all game, easily keeping possession… but we score and all of a sudden its like the ball is on fire and we cant wait to give it them back.
• Generally it’s worked but it has hurt us a couple of times of real importance. Watford in the FA Cup and in more recent memory Burnley. But a fair comment by yourself, and I’m generally delighted with how far we’ve come. I do sometimes feel we’re a bit naive though and need to be more intelligent with how we play. Back to back 7th places finishes but last season we really let that top 6 slip through our fingers.

A good performance but gifted them their goal. Shame it was Coady and Patricio as they’re so consistent, but plenty of positives. Neto and Podence were brilliant, Samedo started showing some class and Marcel wants to attack. Newcastle just parked the bus so very hard to create openings. Need to convert the few chances we create for our system to work.

Can’t believe people can’t see what Nuno is trying to do! We have been a counter attacking team for 2 years, but now we want to be (and are considered) top 6/8 so need to realise that we need to control play and make chances as teams won’t attack us like they did before. Disappointing result, but we really need to start making chances.
