Geez y’all..you’re fighting for nothing. All of us who went to college knew this would happen. Who cares if it was Freshman? Frats? Etc? Most people saw this situation coming a mile away! just interjecting here and want to say, these are not kids. They are adults. Making their own adult decisions. Unfortunately, as a society we have caudled everyone and allow everyone to blame their poor choices on others. These “kids” knew that gathering wasn’t smart and what the guidelines were and they chose to break them. you are considered an adult at 18 and can be charged as one at 16. Obeying simple commands of masking and distancing can be understood by 12 years old. Heck, my 4 year old understands the basics of “the virus” as the mom of three, two out of college and the youngest at APP State, each of my children was most definitely “a kid” when they started college. Each matured somewhat in those years, but becoming an adult was, and frankly still is, an ongoing process. exactly. She could not walk across the stage to get her diploma 3 weeks ago, because we were in quarantine due to someone in our family having covid. These kids have been through it. My heart hurts for them all. my daughter decided to stay home last minute and I was so sad for her, but now I am relieved she isn’t going through the chaos that must be happening in the dorms! I would love them to be going in January but not holding my breath. that isn’t true at all. Granville Towers is mostly freshmen and sophomores, some juniors as well. My freshman year I did stay at Hinton James but I changed dorms my sophomore year. My boyfriend loved HJ so much that he stayed there for his sophomore year, same with my roommate and four of my suitemates. Upperclassmen do live there as well.
