My dogs have free run of the house. I would never dream of keeping them off the sofa, we snuggle together. Guests who come to my house are friends but they don’t live in my home. My dogs do. I’ve always said that the people who matter don’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter. Besides that, I hoover regularly.

- Why get a dog if you don’t want them around? My mutts get on my sofa, bed, closets, rugs…. things look just fine and don’t even smell like pets. We just keep things clean and our pups are happy and comfy. We love sofa snuggles with them

The pup is adorable no doubt. I commend his mom for teaching him boundaries! I wish I had done so with my dogs, now when I have guests the dogs won’t stay off either the sofa or my guests. And as much as I try, I can’t get them to stay off the sofa. So now I rarely have guests over.
I remember once my daughter had her best friend over and I walked into the living room just in time to see the friend shove my tiny 6 pound yorkie off my sofa. I almost lost it. I told her to pack up her stuff so I could take her home. She asked me why and I told her, “When I am at your house, you don’t see me shove your cat off your table or your weenie dog off your sofa, do you?
My doggo is allowed on one of our couches and not the other. She knows the rules and is very good with them. Is she is told to get off the couch because theres a visitor then she knows down means down. No problems so far. She is 3
