I have flown in past week to Colorado from CA where cases are lower and I was outdoors most of the time, Flew SWA which is my go-to airline. Wipes, constant sanitizer, face mask, didn’t touch a thing in and out and their policy of empty middle seats is great. (If/when middle seats fill would I think change my comfort level) Everyone in a mask and their air is highly hepa filtered. Some wore plastic face shields over mask. Agree felt safer there than indoor restaurant. Rented a car instead of Uber to lower risk…
- I just flew on Friday and Saturday to Costa Rica. I have a house here that needs care. It was chaotic and very stressful due to issues with all of the protocol required to enter CR. Also, limited to no social distancing at times in the airport. People taking off masks on the plane or leaving noses dangling out. It’s certainly not a place for the high risk people.
- the primary purpose of a mask is to block the person wearing it from expelling droplets and aerosol, which spreads the virus. It gives some protection to the wearer but not entirely. It is affective at preventing the wearer from spreading the virus to others.
- I have flown a number of times between Minneapolis and Phoenix. Always on Delta. They are doing a great job of cleaning their planes between each flight and not filling middle seats. I felt very safe on the flights and at the airport.
- I flew last week on AA. They do make sure you are wearing your mask. However other than that the plane was totally packed. You did get a ziplock baggie with water, a cookie and a wipe. I don’t feel they are sanitizing properly between flights. Also didn’t see any cleaning in airport gates.
I hope you’re referring to American Airlines and not Alaskan Airlines. We just flew Alaskan and it was great. Not many near the gate or in the plane. We had no change over so we only had one airport. If you NEED to fly they are doing a very nice job.
Yep, to Vienna in August via Bratislava. Had a test upon landing in Vienna, isolated until I heard the results, then had a great time in a country that really knows how to respect each other. Flew back to LOndon and had a test 2 days later. Again, isolated u til I got results. Booked seating and paid for seating just before the flight and got a front row seat by myself with no one within two rows of me. Paid to preboard, so less contact.
Did not use the toilet and ate and bought all my own food. Wore a P95 mask the entire 6 hours. Worst place was waiting at Luton airport. Not enough masks or distancing. Drove there and back in my own car. Tests were negative on both ends.
