I graduated in 73. My brother Bill graduated in 71. There are several Buddy Moores around. Last name was Mouk. Don’t remember his first name. Was a insurance agent. Luke Mouk. His younger son Jeff was my classmate.
Are you related to Mrs Greenlee who worked at Barkdull Faulk Elementary? I don’t know why that is such a vivid memory. We had a pretty good troop. Possibly. My aunt Julia in the cafeteria at Ouachita at one time. Could have been there too. Does anybody besides me remember the Clintons flying pot into Farmerville pastures because the small airplanes couldn’t make it to Mena and back to Mexico? I remember the spillway being complete but the lake wasn’t full yet. Olinkraft or Olin Matheson owned much of the land and sold lots to employees. My parents bought one across the road from the lake and built a camp. This was in 1962 or 63. My parents bought a lot, but it was gonna be flooded when the Bayou was dammed up, so they bought another lol…I thot around 67, but hey, who remembers , lol….
I was a child so I’m not sure I’d know the time, but I remember seeing it and my Dad talking about it. Haven’t been there in decades. Need to make a trip. Remember when the Lake was built and remember driving on old road and water over it when lake was filling. The lake was built by prisoners I knew one of them and my grandfather drove a dump truck when it was dug. I bet that was a very long process.
