After the previous outstanding success, Piaggio decided to renew the Vespa line to suit the lifestyle and urban traffic.
In 1976, the Primavera 125 ET3 was equipped with an electronic ignition system and three charging ports.
In 1978, the P 125 X had a completely new monocoque body, while the P 200 E had an independent lubrication system and a navigation panel attached to the body for the first time.
In 1984, the PK 125 launched an automatic transmission, which is also the most dramatic change since 1946.
In 1985 the Pole Position T5 was known as the first “super sports car”, with an aluminum cylinder that effectively dissipates heat generated by the high power of the scooter.
In 1989 the PK N 50 reached the top of the best cars.
In 1996, the ET4 125 was the first Vespa scooter with a central 4-stroke engine and automatic transmission, and just two years later it became the best-selling Vespa-branded two-wheeler in the country. In the 1990s, Piaggio & C. was privatized and renamed Piaggio VE chaired by Giovanni Alberto Agnelli.
