Anakin, Padmé and Obi-Wan were captured by the separatist leader Dooku on the planet Geonosis. They were rescued by Yoda and Mace Windu, another senior member of the Jedi Council. Anakin and Padmé secretly hold the wedding, after which she becomes pregnant.
The separatists captured Palpatine. Anakin and Obi-Wan come to the rescue, and Anakin eventually kills Dooku. Because of his pride, Anakin became increasingly dissatisfied with the Jedi Council, especially because they refused to confer the title of Master.
Anakin foresaw Padmé’s death in childbirth, and Palpatine convinces him that only the dark side possesses the power to save his wife’s life.
