The origins of rugby are thought to be rooted in a controversy during an English high school football match at Rugby School in 1823 when William Webb Ellis picked up the ball by hand and held it with him.
Although the evidence for this story has not been released, it still becomes an immortal legend at this school because a plaque was put in place in 1895. And though it is still doubtful. doubt about this story, but the football trophy is officially named after Webb Ellis. Rugby football today originated in the form of the game that took place at Rugby School, which alumni of the school later introduced into college.
