“Muggle” is used in the series to refer to someone who is incapable of magic and who is not born into the wizarding world. In 2002, this word was added to the Oxford English dictionary as “the person with disabilities or lacking a certain ability”.
In April 2017, the word “Quidditch” was included in the dictionary with the original meaning of the world of witchcraft in Harry Potter.
Some words like “Potterhead” (Harry Potter fans), “Wrock” – short for “Wizard rock” (bands formed with names, images and lyrics related to Harry’s world Potter) or the word “Horcrux” (Horcrux) is being considered by Oxford to include in the dictionary.
