According to the 19-year-old black woman, a series of events ensued that resulted in her losing her job and Congious’s manager even asked for assistance from the police.

On September 23, Congious filed a complaint with Texas officials. Former Whataburger cashier said she lost her job because of racism, specifically because of the color of her skin and the message conveyed on her mask.
