This is interesting to me, as I have an accordion at home I’m looking forward to playing as I have been taking jazz piano lessons this semester and I’m hoping to apply my new-found skills to it when I return. My thoughts are to keep to a simple chord progression on the left hand at first–two to four chords (Em to Bmaj7 alternative is a favorite of mine) and improvise on the right. From there, you can expand to longer progressions, and eventually start improvising using the bass row.
