Knight John Tenniel (February 28, 1820 – February 25, 1914) is an English illustrator and satirist, especially known for his work in Punch and for Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland ( 1865) – Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass (1872). John Tenniel was born in Bayswater, West London, to the children of John Baptist Tenniel. A sword and dance master of Huguenot lineage) and Eliza Maria Tenniel.
