But when he opened the door, he saw something very different than he was expecting. Ashley was there, but instead of carrying her cello with her in its large case, she had a rolling luggage bag with her.
“Hi there,” Ashley said with a smile. “I finally made it out here.”
“Yeah, you made it,” Brian said slowly. “What’s…with the bag? Are you planning on staying the night here?”
Ashley just laughed, seeing how shaky Brian was being, and rolled her eyes. “No, I got knocked up for real and I got kicked out of my house, so I’m coming here to live with you. I didn’t think your mom would mind.”
“Okay, okay,” Brian said, holding the door open for her to come inside. “Then what is it for?”
“You’ll see,” Ashley said with a wink. “It’s a surprise, and I think you’ll like it more than listening to me play the cello for you.”
“No, I really wanted to hear you play,” Brian said.
“Then I should take this back with me and go get my cello instead?” Ashley said with a smirk, giving her luggage a pat.
“Well…as long as it’s here…we should see what’s inside,” Brian said, narrowing his eyes and making Ashley laugh.
“I will, I will. But first, c’mon, this is my first time in your house!” Ashley said, giving him a playful elbow to the ribs. “Be a gentleman, give me a tour, show me around!”
Brian blushed as Ashley left her bag in the front foyer and he started to show his girlfriend around his house. He did the standard sights of the living room and the kitchen, before she insisted he show her his room. Brian walked up the stairs, trying not to show Ashley how nervous he was. This was his first time showing a girl his room and he was trembling slightly, feeling his chest getting warm. But, he knew he had no real reason to worry. Ashley was caring and supportive and she would always treat him well, no matter what happened.
